Vice President of Israeli Division
Mr. Zori Kor recently retired from the Israeli Security Agency (ISA) after 25 years of service in a number of counter-terrorism and protective security posts. Mr. Kor advises ASERO clients on strategic solutions for IT and Cyber security and critical information infrastructure defense and provides internationally recognized training on all aspects of security from physical security, aviation security, emergency preparedness and critical infrastructure protection to crisis response and planning in IT and Cyber.
Prior to joining ASERO, Mr. Kor served as the Head of the Technology Department in the National Information Security Authority in Israel (NISA, sub-division in the prime Minister’s Office), focusing on IT and Cyber security, including audits of IT and Cyber systems and Industrial Control Systems (ICA/SCADA), gap analysis, instruction, guidance, technical aspects and standards of IT and Cyber security systems and devices, as well as policy management and risk assessment.
As the Head of the Technology Department and International Relations for the National Information Security Authority and the Protection and Security Division of the Israeli Security Agency (ISA), Mr. Kor was responsible for developing and overseeing strategic international relations with security agencies worldwide, among other roles..
Mr. Kor held senior field positions in ISA duty areas including intelligence, aviation security, installation security and cyber security. He also has several years of experience in both intelligence assessment and risk management.
During his career with the ISA, Mr. Kor also served as the Head of the Overseas Security Department, responsible for aviation, embassies, shipping, installations and international border points. In this capacity, Mr. Kor led a series of projects in coordination with agencies and partners both in Israel and abroad and managed instruction on defense related for professionals in Israel and abroad and the ISA Center for Professional Activity.
In recent years, Mr. Kor has led and implemented numerous state-of-the-art technology-related projects which dealt with remote sensing, screening techniques, IT and Cyber security, complex security systems in civil environments, among others.
In addition to his role at the ISA, Mr. Kor has held many high-level security positions throughout his career including: Commander of training programs for security managers at the ISA academy (1994-1995); Head of the Intelligence Branch, ISA (1996-2000); and, Regional Security Manager for El Al security operations at major airports and global hubs in First World countries (2001-2004).
As part of his service in the Israel Defense Force (IDF) from 1981-1986, Mr. Kor served as a Company Commander in the Armor Corps, achieving the rank of Major.
Mr. Kor is a regular guest speaker at various international Homeland Security forums and Cyber security conferences. In 2011, he hosted the second International Forum on Industrial Control Systems (ICS) security and critical infrastructure defense in Tel Aviv. In 2012, Mr. Kor gave presented on Critical Information Infrastructure Protection (CIIP) and Defense at the International HLS 2012 conference in Tel Aviv. In 2013, he presented at the Financial Sector Conference in Geneva, Switzerland, later in the year at cyber security seminars in the United States, and in October 2013, he was invited as a Keynote speaker to present at the GovWare2013 in Singapore. Mr. Kor has also delivered a series of Cyber security lectures in Norway, the Netherlands and in the United States in 2014.
Mr. Kor was a member of the content committee of the HLS 2014 conference that was held in November 2014. He also presented and led the first cyber session in the HLS 2014 conference and was a member of the steering committee of CyberTech 2015, one of the biggest cyber security conferences in the world. Also, in CyberTech 2015, in Tel Aviv in March 2015, Mr. Kor led the “innovative next generation cyber defense methodologies” session in the conference. Following that Mr. Kor led the innovative cyber session in “InnovFest 2015” in Singapore on April, 2015 (The biggest innovation conference in Asia).
Mr. Kor was a member of the content committee of CyberTech 2016 and 2017. He led the “Thinking outside the box: The use of creative, innovative and deceptive solutions for cyber security” session in both conferences.
On behalf of the Israeli National Cyber Security Authority Mr. Kor led the “Creating innovative CERT and Coordination Centers – Incorporating Cyber and Physical Security” session in the International HLS & Cyber Conference in Tel Aviv in November 2016.
Mr. Kor holds a B.Sc. in Physics and an M.Sc. in Applied Physics from Tel Aviv University. He also received an Executive Master of Business Administration from Tel Aviv University. Mr. Kor is a graduate of the Business Executive Leadership Program, University of California, Irvine (UCI), United States.
Mr. Kor is a presenter in Tel Aviv University in the Homeland Security Executive Certificate Studies Program. He is fluent in English and Hebrew.
Danielle Smith is a Homeland Security Analyst in ASERO Worldwide’s Tel Aviv office. She works on a variety of homeland security projects within the academic sector. Prior to joining ASERO, Ms. Smith was part of the Israel Defense Force and served in the Spokespersons division, where she worked closely with senior officials, diplomats and military attaches from around the world.
Ms. Smith has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History with specialization in International Relations from the University of California, Los Angeles. She received her Master of Arts in Government, specializing in the fields of Counterterrorism and Homeland Security from the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya.
Business Operations Coordinator
Michael Church is the Business Operations Coordinator in ASERO Worldwide’s Washington, D.C. office. He coordinates and supports the company’s day-to-day U.S.-based business and administrative operations. He also coordinates marketing and finance efforts.
Prior to joining ASERO Worldwide, Mr. Church was a Legal Assistant for Tully Rinckey, PLLC, where he provided legal and administrative support for the attorneys working in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Prior to his role at Tully Rinckey, Mr. Church worked as a Docketing Coordinator at Dow Lohnes, PLLC. In this position, he coordinated with management to implement the firm’s new docketing software. Prior to Dow Lohnes, Mr. Church was an Office Manager/Legal Assistant at Swick & Shapiro, P.C., where he provided legal support to a small employment rights litigation firm and assisted the Managing Partner in managing the day-to-day operations.
Mr. Church has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from University of Maryland, University College.
