Oded Raz
Vice President

Oded Raz, vice president of ASERO Worldwide, is a former senior ranking security official of the Israeli Security Agency (ISA). His most recent position with the ISA was as deputy head of the protection and security division.

Mr. Raz advises ASERO’s clients on strategic tactics for security preparedness and assists companies in both identifying alternative uses for technologies to enhance homeland security defense and integrating them into the security marketplace.

While serving as deputy head of the protection and security division from 2005-2007, Mr. Raz was also the division’s chief of staff responsible for international relations and all headquarter activities. As deputy, Mr. Raz’s national responsibilities included the protection and security of Israeli dignitaries, official delegations and delegations traveling abroad; domestic and international Israeli civil aviation and foreign civil aviation in the state of Israel; national classified information; official Israeli missions and personnel abroad; critical infrastructure within Israel; the ISA’s information, installations and personnel; Israeli ports and vessels in foreign ports; and national and internal borders.

Since joining the ISA in 1987, Mr. Raz held a number of additional positions, including regional security director – Europe (2003 – 2005); head of department for directing and regulating security in Israel and abroad (2000 – 2003); head of the department for the protection of information and critical infrastructures (1997 – 2000); regional security director for the Middle East (1995 – 1997); head of operations intelligence branch (1992 – 1995); and head of the maritime protection branch (1990-1992).

In conjunction with these positions, he has also advised various government agencies worldwide on counter terrorism issues and how to provide optimum solutions to emerging security difficulties.

Mr. Raz holds a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in political science specializing in national security from the University of Haifa in Israel. He is currently working on his doctorate.
